All right! We met to discuss how we’ll organize our presentation for the upcoming Florida Historical Society (FHS) meeting, where we will all present. This presentation aims to highlight our progress and what we have learned while scanning Stella’s scrapbook. My task is to plan out the introduction to the research and presentation. Key details include the library’s founding, Clara Dommerich’s contribution to creating the library, and how it connects to Maitland Library’s current plans to move into a new building. This is why we are bringing up this scrapbook and its relevance to what is going on.

On Friday, we sat down to discuss the plan for splitting the metadata work. We also watched the RICHES video guide to help us understand the metadata process. We also discussed what the future panel can focus on when it comes in on the 16th of October.

This week we have finished scanning the 1st scrapbook of Stella’s! The next step is me learning how to do metadata as its my first time but Im really excited to learn more of the inner workings. The scanning process was fun ; next is the real work to come up with an exhibit that is going to happen in December. After the metadata for the 1st scrapbook, hopefully by then we will come up with how to tackle the 2nd scrapbook which is not as pristine as compare to the 1st scrapbook

Alright, this week our team has been able to fully scan Stella’s first scrapbook; it was the easiest due to the good condition of that scrapbook! We are all getting the hang of using the scanner and the program. The next step is to process them and name them making sure we organized them properly before we proceed with the rest of the project.
